A colorful desert that is easy to make and can be made ahead of time so you have more time to visit with your family. It can also be adapted to various holidays using different flavored cake and jello for different holiday seasons i.e. chocolate cake, orange jello for Halloween, or White cake with lime, and strawberry jello’s for Christmas.

  1. Preheat oven and prepare cake as per box instructions
  2. Grease sides and bottom of 9” x 13” cake pan, then line bottom with Bakers paper.
  3. If you do not have bakers paper, flour pan after greasing.
  4. For a confetti cake, gently and quickly fold in cake sprinkles just before pouring batter into pan.
  5. Bake. Cool cake pan on rack.
  6. When cake is cool, invert onto a cutting board.
  7. Cut cake length wise so it is 2 skinny layers.
  8. Then slice the 2 layers so that you have 1” x 1” approximate cubes of cake.
  9. Set aside.
  10. Using 4 separate medium bowls, pour 2 cups whipping cream into each bowl and add 1 pack of jello to each bowl.
  11. Into the 4th bowl that has no jello packet, add the icing sugar and vanilla.
  12. With electric mixer, combine jello and cream and whip each bowl until firm peaks are formed.
  13. Scrape bowl frequently with spatula.
  14. In an attractive large glass bowl layer in 1/3 of cake cubes.
  15. Then gently spoon in your first jello flavor (careful not to smear whipped jello down sides).
  16. Spread into a relatively even layer.
  17. Repeat with another layer of cake and another jello layer and then again until all you have left is the white whipped cream.
  18. Spread the white whipped cream on the top layer.
  19. Decorate top if you want.
  20. Store desert in fridge until serving time - can be made day in advance.
