Chocolate Marshmallow Mug Cakes

We know you'll warm up to this recipe fast: A mug filled with rich chocolate cake topped with whipped chocolate frosting.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour oven-safe mugs.
  2. Prepare cake batter as directed on package.
  3. Fill mugs two-thirds full with batter. Set mugs on a sheet pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
  4. Let mugs cool completely.
  5. Add the Whipped Chocolate frosting to a piping bag with an open star decorator tip.
  6. Pipe the frosting in a swirling motion. Garnish with mini-marshamallows and serve with a spoon.

If you’d like a molten centre, use Duncan Hines® Triple Chocolate Decadent Cake Mix. Layer the Decadent pouch filling in between a bottom and a top layer of cake batter and bake.

Makes a lot though. Mug cakes are best when you only need one. Better idea would be to take a Duncan Hines cake mix (your choice of flavour), a box of Duncan Hines angel food cake mix, combine them thoroughly and store them in an airtight container. Use 3 tbsp of the mix, 2 tbsp of water, whisked in a mug (or a microwave safe custard dish works too), microwave for 1 minute. Fast, easy, convenient, and uses Duncan Hines products. ;)
