Gingerbread cake with vanilla frosting
- Preheat oven to 350F and grease 1 8” round cake pan and 1 6” round cake pan and line with parchment.
- In a bowl, whisk dry inhredients. Set aside. In separate bowl beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add molasses and vanilla.
- Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk, beginning with flour.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake for approx. 25-30mins or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool completely, decorate.
