Princess cake

Rating: Not Rated 2 Comments

A 2-layer cake that is pink, white, and blue inside, covered in pink and white icing topped with a princess doll. I made it for my niece's and sisters-in-law's birthdays.

  1. Mix batter according to box. Divide into 3 bowls.
  2. Tint 1 pink & 1 blue.
  3. Alternate dropping spoonfuls of batter into centres of pans(it will spread to the sides).
  4. Bake cake acc. to box for two 8-9"round pans.
  5. Tint 1 can frosting pink. Put one layer on plate.
  6. Top w/white frosting then put 2nd layer on top.
  7. Spread top w/white frosting & sides w/pink.
  8. Sprinkle sugar on top.
  9. Put doll on top. Put crowns & hearts on sides.
  10. Pipe pink frosting along bottom & top edges. Pipe on flowers/leaves/writing.

I used vanilla frosting but I would recommend using the Duncan Hines Buttercream frosting(I didn't know it existed when I made this cake!). It's not quite as sweet. I find the vanilla frostings too sicky sweet sometimes! Lol!

Fun to make and fun to eat! And looks so pretty with pink and blue inside!
