No-Fail White Cake

This all-purpose cake batter is quick and easy to prepare – and foolproof!

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350˚F (180°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pans (or line bottom of each pan with parchment paper).
  2. Using electric mixer, in large bowl, beat together cake mix, flour, honey, sour cream, milk, melted butter, applesauce, egg whites, almond extract and salt for about 2 minutes or until well combined.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pans and smooth tops. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean when inserted into centre. Let cool completely on rack.

Serve cake with fresh berries or frost cake with Duncan Hines Cream Cheese Frosting or Creamy Home Style Milk Chocolate Frosting.
