Creamy Maple Frosting
- 2 3/4 C. icing sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 C. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 C. Maple blend syrup
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- Mix icing sugar (sift, if lumpy), salt and egg. Blend in syrup. Add shortening and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- If frosting is too thick to spread easily, add water. If frosting is too thin, add icing sugar.
- This is enough frosting to ice a round double layer cake. It is perfect for my favorite "Butter Pecan' Duncan Hines cake! Everyone loves it.
