This dessert is as cute as it is tasty! All the mouthwatering fudgy goodness of a regular size Duncan Hines Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix packed into mini chocolate cakes. Winter Lights Mini Cakes are a big taste in a small package.
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tubs Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Classic Chocolate Frosting
- 1 (16 oz) pkg SKITTLES® Original Bite Size Candies
- small muffin tin -- top measure 1¾ inches, base measure 1 inch
- medium muffin tin -- top measure 2¾ inches, base measure 1¾ inches
- large muffin tin -- top measure 4 inches, base measure 31/2 inches
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Spray muffin pans with non-stick cooking spray. Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
- Fill 7 of each size muffin molds half full. Bake small cupcakes 10 minutes, medium cupcakes 15 minutes and large cupcakes 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in tins 10 minutes. Remove and cool completely on wire rack.
- To assemble mini cakes, make sure all cupcakes are level. Place largest cupcake on plate, top side up, and frost top only. Place medium cupcake, top side up, in center of the large cupcake. Frost top only. Repeat with the smallest cupcake. Continue to build the 3-tiered mini cakes until all 7 are prepared.
- Decorate around tiers with candies.
