Can the raisins be omitted from the carrot cake?

I am planning on making this cake on the weekend> I think i will put some cinnamon and nutmeg into the cream cheese for a bit more flavour though. Maybe a bit of coconut rum too. :)

The carrots and rasins are included in the carrot cake mix. They come in a seperate(s) bag from the mix. I suppose if you wanted to add more of your own you could.
